About the Material Leather originally made prioritizing durability as "tool-grade." Before any finishing processes are applied to make it look beautiful, vegetable-tanned leather bears marks of its living origin, such as bloodlines, wrinkles, and natural scars. At Somes Saddle, except for areas affecting quality, we deliberately cut without hiding these features. Each piece is unique, possessing distinct character with no two alike. About Patina Development While containing high-quality oils, the surface is intentionally left uncoated. Therefore, contact with water may cause stains, and exposure to sunlight or friction will dramatically deepen the color.
