Snow Peak from Japan

What is Snow Peak and what is made in Tsubame-Sanjo?

Snow Peak is a camping brand founded in 1958 in Niigata by Yukio Yamai, based in Tsubame-Sanjo, the metalworking district where its titanium tableware is made. Its range covers titanium mugs and cookware, the 焚火台 (takibidai) fire pit, tents such as the Amenity Dome and Land Lock, the IGT (Iron Grill Table) system, chairs and lanterns, plus an apparel line. The Japanese range is wider than the export one, and the 雪峰祭 (Seppōsai) festival editions released twice a year are sold only in Japan and resold on Yahoo Auctions and Mercari afterwards. Snow Peak's online shop delivers inside Japan only; OneMall provides the Japanese address and yen payment and forwards from our Japan warehouse.

What does 雪峰祭限定 mean on a Snow Peak listing?

That the item was released for 雪峰祭 (Seppōsai), the brand's twice-yearly festival, in a limited run sold through Japanese stores and its online shop, and is now being resold. These editions — colourways, engraved titanium, festival-only products — are what buyers search for by name on the resale market, and listings state the year and season of the festival. 廃盤 marks discontinued regular products, which are collected the same way.

• 雪峰祭 2023春 / 秋 — festival edition by year and season
• 廃盤 — discontinued product
• 未使用 / 未開封 — unused / unopened
• 使用感あり / 煤汚れ — signs of use / soot marks on fire gear
• 付属品完備 — all accessories and case included

Which Snow Peak items cannot be shipped from Japan?

Fuel, gas canisters and anything that contains them. OneMall's prohibited items list places gases and sprays, lighters and oil, and matches and charcoal among dangerous goods that cannot be shipped, so GigaPower gas canisters, fuel and lighters cannot be forwarded. Burners without fuel, lanterns without fuel, cookware, tents, chairs and tableware ship as ordinary goods, and each carrier applies its own dangerous-goods rules that decide the shipping methods available for a parcel.

Where is Snow Peak sold in Japan?

New from the Snow Peak online shop and its stores, and from Japanese outdoor retailers on Rakuten and Amazon Japan; secondhand on Yahoo Auctions and Mercari, where festival editions, discontinued items and used tents are listed, and shop-graded at 2nd STREET. A product page from the online shop can be pasted as a link.

How much does it cost to ship camping gear from Japan?

Camping gear is priced on volume, so the parcel size decides the shipping line. At order time you pay the yen price, OneMall's service fee, shown before you confirm, and the seller's domestic shipping if charged; after the items reach our Japan warehouse you choose an international shipping method and pay for it. Titanium mugs and small tableware are light and consolidate well; a folding chair, a fire pit or a tent is a large, heavy parcel and may limit the shipping methods available. Import duty, if your country charges it, is collected on delivery.

• Mugs, tableware, apparel — light; consolidate freely
• Chairs, tables, fire pits — heavy and bulky; check the calculator first
• Tents and tarps — long parcels; some shipping methods have size limits
