Attesa, The Citizen, Exceed and the domestic Promaster references. Citizen sells a Japan-market range under its own line names, with Japanese warranty booklets and domestic reference numbers, alongside the export range sold under Eco-Drive model numbers abroad. アテッサ (Attesa) is the titanium radio-controlled line, ザ・シチズン (The Citizen) is the domestic flagship built around high-accuracy quartz — its Cal. 0100, released in 2019, is rated by Citizen at ±1 second per year — エクシード (Exceed) is the dress line, and プロマスター (Promaster) is the tool-watch line whose domestic references differ from the export ones. Export models brought back into Japan are listed as 逆輸入.
| Line | Japanese | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Attesa | アテッサ | Titanium radio-controlled solar; domestic line |
| The Citizen | ザ・シチズン | Domestic flagship, high-accuracy quartz |
| Exceed | エクシード | Dress line, titanium and radio-controlled |
| Promaster | プロマスター | Divers, land and air tool watches |
| Eco-Drive One | エコ・ドライブ ワン | Thin solar dress watch |
| Reverse import | 逆輸入 | Export models resold in Japan |
電波ソーラー (denpa solar) means the watch is both radio-controlled — it sets itself from time signals — and light-powered, and エコ・ドライブ (Eco-Drive) is Citizen's name for its light-powered movements. Most domestic Attesa, Exceed and Promaster models are 電波ソーラー, and Japanese sellers write it in the title. Two things follow for a used watch: it needs no battery change, but its rechargeable cell (二次電池) ages, and a seller's note of 二次電池交換済 or フル充電で稼働 tells you the state of it; and the radio reception is tuned to the Japanese signal stations on older models, while newer ones receive multiple regions, so check the model's reception list for your country.
By the charge state, the case coating and the crystal, in that order. Because most Citizen watches are solar, running status is stated as charged and running rather than as a daily rate; 稼働品 confirms it runs. Titanium models with Duratect coating resist scratches, so 傷少なめ (few scratches) on those is meaningful, and 風防傷 (crystal scratches) is the note to check on any model. Japanese sellers list the strap as 純正 (original) or 社外 (aftermarket) and state the spare links.
New domestic models on Rakuten and Amazon Japan from Japanese watch retailers; used ones on Mercari, Yahoo Auctions and shop-graded at Suruga-ya and 2nd STREET. Citizen's domestic lines are sold through the same Japanese retailers as Seiko, and used ones are listed steadily because the watches are durable and owners upgrade within the brand. Japanese secondhand dealers hold a 古物商 licence and verify who they buy from.
| Where | What you typically find |
|---|---|
| Rakuten, Amazon Japan | New Attesa, Exceed, Promaster, The Citizen with Japanese warranty |
| Mercari, Rakuma, Yahoo Fleamarket | Used domestic models, 逆輸入 Promaster divers |
| Yahoo Auctions | Older Attesa and Exceed, vintage Citizen mechanical watches |
| Suruga-ya, 2nd STREET | Shop-graded used watches |
Item price plus OneMall's service fee when you order, international shipping when the watch leaves our Japan warehouse, and your own country's duty on arrival. The fee is shown before you confirm; the seller's domestic shipping is added when charged. A Citizen in its box is a small parcel, and titanium models are light, so the shipping line is modest; ordering several watches and consolidating them into one parcel is the saving. Solar watches ship without restriction.
シチズン plus the line in katakana or the domestic reference number; adding 電波ソーラー narrows to the radio-controlled solar models that dominate the Attesa and Exceed lines.

Use OneMall as your Japan proxy. We give you a Japanese address, pay the seller in yen, receive your CITIZEN order at our warehouse in Japan, then forward it to the USA and worldwide — you do not need a Japanese address, phone number or payment method.
Japanese stores and marketplaces carry Japan-exclusive releases and limited editions that never reach overseas retail. Shopping the Japanese market directly is the only way to reach that inventory.
OneMall searches Japan's major marketplaces and stores in one place — including Mercari, Yahoo Auctions, Amazon Japan, Rakuten, Rakuma, Yahoo Fleamarket, Suruga-ya, Animate and ZOZOTOWN — so you can compare CITIZEN listings across sites without opening a Japanese account on each one.
Yes. Items bought from different sellers are received at our warehouse in Japan and can be consolidated into a single parcel before international shipping, which lowers the per-item shipping cost.
OneMall does not guarantee authenticity. Brand items are bought on your behalf from Japanese stores and from sellers on Japanese marketplaces, and our purchase terms state that authenticity, quality and condition are not guaranteed, especially for used items. Read the listing photos and condition notes in full before ordering.
