Seiko and Citizen sell separate ranges inside Japan and abroad, and the domestic ranges carry different reference numbers, different dial printing and models that are never exported at all. A domestic model typically ships with a Japanese-language manual and warranty documentation, and often with a date wheel or dial text that the export version does not have. Japanese enthusiasts call export-market watches bought back into Japan 逆輸入 (gyaku-yunyū, reverse-imported) — the existence of that word is a good indication of how distinct the two ranges are.
The split between sites is sharper for watches than for most categories, because new domestic stock and vintage stock barely overlap. Knowing which side you are shopping saves a lot of wasted searching.
| Where | What you typically find |
|---|---|
| Rakuten, Amazon Japan | New domestic-model watches from Japanese retailers |
| Yahoo Auctions | Vintage pieces, parts watches, unserviced stock |
| Mercari, Rakuma | Secondhand modern watches sold by individuals |
| 2nd STREET, Suruga-ya | Shop-graded secondhand stock |
For watches the condition grade is much less informative than the running status and the accessories, and Japanese sellers state both explicitly. A watch listed as 稼働品 has been confirmed running by the seller; ジャンク means it has not, and is priced accordingly. Read for these terms specifically before ordering.
The cost components are below. Two things are specific to this category. First, watches carry a high declared value relative to their size, so import duty or tax in your own country is more likely to apply than it is for small collectibles — check your local threshold before ordering. Second, battery-powered items are subject to air transport rules, so confirm the item against OneMall's prohibited items list before you place the order rather than after it reaches our warehouse.
| What you pay | When you pay it |
|---|---|
| Item price in yen | At order time |
| OneMall's service fee | At order time, shown before you confirm |
| Domestic shipping inside Japan, if the seller charges it | At order time |
| International shipping to your country | After the item reaches our Japan warehouse |
| Import duty or tax, if your country charges it | On delivery, paid to your carrier or customs |
Start with 腕時計 and add the movement type: that is the primary filter Japanese buyers use, and it is written into most listing titles. Adding it to a brand name narrows the results far more effectively than an English query does.

OneMall acts as your Japan proxy: we give you a Japanese address, buy the item on your behalf, receive it at our warehouse in Japan and forward it to the USA and worldwide.
You can browse Watches listings from Japanese marketplaces on OneMall in English, including Mercari, Yahoo Auctions, Amazon Japan, Rakuten, Suruga-ya, Animate and ZOZOTOWN, and order without reading Japanese.
Yes. Orders from different sellers arrive at our Japan warehouse separately and can be consolidated into one parcel before international shipping.
OneMall does not guarantee authenticity. OneMall is a proxy buying service, not the seller: both new and used items are bought on your behalf from third-party Japanese stores and marketplace sellers, and we forward what that seller ships. Read the listing photos and condition notes in full before ordering, especially for used items.
